One of the fist stops on any trip to London is always Borough Market, one of the oldest and biggest markets in the city. We make sure that we are there first thing the morning when everything is starting to open to beat the crowd. Because trust us– there will be a crowd.
You could spend weeks eating your way through the market and still not try everything, so here is just a small taste of our favorite things.
We like to try and start off healthy (even though it will not end that way) with a Citrus Delight Juice from Chegworth Valley – a great stall with amazing fruit and veg.
We try to keep the market brunch train going with a stop at Boston Sausage for some handmade Lincolnshire Sausage and an incredible sausage burger with cheese, greens, and sweet chili sauce all on a fresh bun.
Thankfully it’s just a short walk to pick up another amazing sandwich. When you’re in London, you have to grab a salt beef sandwich and one of our absolute favorites comes from the Northfield Farm stall. Fresh sliced bread covered in mustard and piled high with salt beef. The sandwich is perfectly rounded out with crispy pickled red cabbage and sliced pickles.
To finish up our lovely, albeit brief, taste of Borough market we head over to Comptoir Gourmand to sample some fresh baked treats like this brioche with filled with an orange and vanilla cream, topped with powered sugar. A perfect way to top off this market meal.
